Tiny Tadpoles - Ages 6-18mo
This class is designed to assist infant and parent adjustment, exploration, water safety and the basics in swimming skills. This is a parent/child participation class. Swim diapers with approved plastic coveralls are required.

Mini Minnows - Ages 3-5
This class is designed for children as their first class without their parents. Your child will learn to overcome fears of the water. Your child will build confidence; learn basic water safety skills and beginning swimming skills.

Dynamic Dolphins - Ages 3-5
This class is designed for children who must be able to swim five yards unassisted on their stomach in order to enroll. Children will learn rotary breathing and more advance swimming skills that will allow them to progress into higher-level classes.

Level 1/Introduction to Water Skills - Ages 5+
This class is designed to teach participants how to enter and exit the water safely; submerge mouth, nose, and eyes; exhale underwater through mouth and nose; explore floating on front and back with support; explore swimming on front and back using arm and leg actions with support.

Level 2/Fundamental Aquatic Skills - Ages 5+
This class is designed to give students success with fundamental skills. Students will learn to float without support and to recover to a vertical position. Students explore simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on the front and back to lay the foundations for future strokes and movement in the water.

Level 3/Stroke Development - Ages 5+
This class is designed to build on the skills in the previous level by providing additional guided practice. Students will learn to coordinate the front crawl and back crawl, bob with head fully submerged, rotary breathing in a horizontal position, perform front and back glides using two different kicks, treading water, butterfly kick and body motion. This class meets in the indoor lap pool.

Level 4/Stroke Improvement - Ages 5+
This class is designed to develop confidence in the strokes learned thus far and to improve other aquatic skills. Students improve their skills and increase their endurance by swimming familiar strokes (front crawl and back crawl) for greater distances. Students continue to build on the butterfly stroke and are introduced to elementary backstroke, breaststroke and elements of the side-stroke. Basics of turning at the wall are also introduced.

Youth Private Lessons
Every child is taught by their own personal swim instructor and can progress at his or her own pace. Lessons are scheduled based upon instructor and student availability. Lessons are available in 15-, 30- or 60-minute sessions. Times and dates for the lessons are determined between you and the instructor. Receive a complimentary 15-minute lesson if you buy a package of four hours of private lessons. Please call the Aquatics office and leave your name, phone number, age of the participant to schedule a lesson with an instructor. The Aquatics Team Leader will then contact you to arrange the lessons. Cost is $55/hour for Members and $75/hour for Non-Members. We also offer Semi-Private Lessons; cost is $70/hour for Members and $90/hour for Non-Members.
